The hillbilly version:“ I’ll tell you the truth ten different ways before I would lie to you”. “I would lie but only if it benefited me”. Is there more than one truth? Are there different levels of true? Is there a time when it is justified to use something other than the truth to gain an advantage?
Our purpose is not to impart the truth but to entertain. We believe everyone has a choice (take it or leave it). If you cannot laugh, there is a good possibility you will end up crying. Not all choices are equal, as to quality and quantity. There is a lie in believe. Course, you knew that.
Arkansas charter schools are public schools, which spend less per pupil and produce better results. We are asked to believe this. The major difference being the other category. But if this true, why don’t we do away with traditional schools? Are results tainted. In 1999 Arkansas had charter schools. This increased to 69 by 2022; and will be unlimited under LEARNS, the new Arkansas learning program. It would appear we headed that way. This is great. Will there be a bus going to these?
Separate but equal does not work (heard that somewhere). If one is better than the other, will this not lead mental health problems to those not attending the charter and maybe those attending the better school.
There is always someone who gets the concept quicker.
A comparison almost without fail leads to one is better than others. How about “do your best today and improve tomorrow”.
Don’t think, we think you less intelligent. Fact is we think you are more intelligent because we only attended public school. Not school choice but the school that the bus carried us to and from. Mandatory attendance, dress code, and corporal punishment were lessons that shaped us. But at the time, the United States scores ranked high compared to other places. To date, we have slipped from top ten. What happened?
In Arkansas we are piloting charter schools. Will there be a bus going to these?
And if we can afford charter schools, why can’t we afford small school districts?
Charter school do not receive any local funds raised through property taxes (Arkansas Charter School Funding 6-13-2024 Johnson and McGee)?
