A Job well Done

Hillbilly version: just doing my job. The 44 who stayed behind and did their job should be commended. Given at the very least Atta Boys for everyone. A word of caution seems appropriate. Don’t let your guard down. You should expect more actions and maybe more intense. Can there be a peace treaty if there is not a war? Korea, Viet Nam, Afghanistan all involved stopping the spread of nondemocratic nations from taking over. Maybe an armistice could stop the fighting.

A fork in the road was taken when the United States committed bombers in support of Israel against Iran. Those serving are on heightened alert and suffer increased levels of danger. Peace through strength. Those left to stop the incoming aerial attacks are open to attack by conventional troops on the ground. Hopefully, we are being kept in the dark about our real capabilities and they will be safe. Can we get out now that we have committed?

Have you noticed, or maybe I am mistaken, that the United States enters the battle after the opponent is softened up? Our policy is to lead from behind. Got your back! We are there for you.

The question is why are we jumping in ( increased involvement) now? The war was going in Israel’s favor. Since information was not available to Congress before launch, we can safely assume that we are not at war and the general public will not be allowed to participate in the decisions or direction that our president has set. Our democracy is being overrun in the name of safety. Enough of this!

Happy Birthday. It’s 4th of July.

Hillbilly version: are we going home for the holiday? No. There is a celebration twenty miles down the road and it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity. 1986 was the year and the restoration celebration of the Statue of Liberty was the reason. Fireworks were synchronized from multiple locations and seemly endless. The bay looked like a person could step from one boat to another. Center stage was the lady with her new torch and she stood proudly welcoming others to American as she had for 200 years.
