Violence as foreign policy

Hillbilly wisdom: violence as defensive measure is ok. To protect our interest “national security” we engage in limited warfare in other places. Not only do we have the ability to attack you but we will. Then we demand certain behaviors. Some call it bargaining or making a deal. And everything is good. We are the leader and everyone is safe. Therefore, we will up our defensive spending and all our buddies will up their spending to assure our safety, to preserve status quo, for democracy. Never do we suggest that people are dying. Limited is accepted as long as it is over there and Americans are not dying. Limited warfare sounds a little self centered.

We cannot allow others to have equal weapons because they are not trustworthy! They openly wish death upon us. We know this because we are told regularly that this is so. We will also need the next generation of weapons to support and maintain our superior position.

Since the Obama administration the United States has contributed 3.8 billion annually to Israel. This is set to continue through 2027. Don’t look for it to stop then. In addition, we support their air defense and now we drop bombs to eliminate their enemies ability to resist. WHY?

“Who cares as long as the battles are not here. What is a few billion if Americans don’t die. Besides, we are not going. It will be someone else. We want be affected.” Really. People are dying.

If, and I emphasize if, the human race is the superior race because of the ability to reason, then why do we continue this endless cycle. Limited war does not go away. As long as war is over there and not affecting us directly it will never stop. The horrors of war should be enough to curtail war. If not then war should be everything at risk. If aggression comes, response should not be limited. The correct response should be total elimination of the aggressor. Limited warfare has not eliminated war. Maybe it is time to consider a different approach. A poor example but the first nuclear bomb did not stop war world two but the second one brought the war to an end. I am not by any means advocating the use of nuclear but the elimination of ones enemies quick and decisively would, I propose, give pause to those considering the use of force against any nation.

We and they should be replaced by us- the human race.
