DQ

Hillbilly wisdom: Point of reference or perspective determines your outlook. For many a reference to DQ brings happy thoughts of ice cream in various combinations. Today, I wish to follow up on having your cake and eating it too. Today, DQ means dumb questions and I have some. There is no court that has upheld Trump’s executive order about birthright citizenship to date. Yet, the question will not go away. First Dumb question: If Trump’s assertion that those not “subject to the jurisdiction there” don’t have citizenship. How can the administration say, on the one hand that illegals are not subject to rules of the jurisdiction and then turn around arrest, incarcerate, and deport them? Obviously, they are subject to the selective rules.

Trump quote: “Why should anybody trust numbers?” This was in regard to the state of the strength of the economy. He subsequently fired the director who reported the numbers because the numbers did not say what he wanted reported. Kill the messenger. On the issue of trust, Dumb question # 2: Why would anyone trust the United States without business certainty? When the rate of tariffs imposed changes daily due in part to the whims of the chief executive there can be no long term reason to maintain an exchange agreements.

Civilians for the most part live within a budget- what they make plus what they can beg borrow or steal. The government does not have a budget and periodically must pass a continuing resolution. Dumb question #3: If we are continuing why are we going in debt at a faster rate? We are cutting waste but those running things are not going down with the ship. Government service pays well. And they get reelected again, again and again. DQ #4 How dumb are we?
