Hillbilly version: there is never a time when violence is the appropriate method for solving a problem. The death of a republican conservative or the assignation of political figures in Minnesota are condemned as they well should be.
Is there a difference between political violence and other acts of violence? Hedseth condoned the use of military action against alleged drug members in the Caribbean for example. How can the leaders of our country condone killing without a trial and condemn the use of force against political figures? As a nation we have bounties on other heads of state? The last two administrations have taken pride in their use of power against the ENEMY.
Do not expect the enemy when out gunned and out manned to meet you on an open field and demand honor. The enemy will use tactical diversion, sneak attacks, snipers, bombs, civilian airplanes. The list is endless. The point being, nothing is off the table. The rules of war for those on the line are simple. Stay alive. Kill or be killed.
There is no honor in bullying a lesser opponent. The opponent may be an individual, state, nation or international entity. It does not matter. Retaliation, tit for tat, finger pointing will not dismiss either party, when both parties are guilty. Fault can and will be assigned but the cycle of violence will not end. The war will not go away and the horrors will increase. Man’s inhumanity to his fellow man is SAD to say the least. The problem is the man not methods he uses to fight. It appears we are less than perfect. Can we learn or fix man? Do we even want to fix the problem?
