Hillbilly version: Explain it to me like a was a kid.
Literally, this act allows the attorney general to
remove any citizen initiatives placing amendments before the Arkansas voters if the language used is
written above the eight grade reading level then the amendment can be removed. (final vote 70 yeas
and 23 nays).
Slightly over 2/3 of our elected representatives think we are to dumb to vote but they are looking out
for us so we want be influenced by confusing language. The facts speak for themselves. Are we stupid
or what? Not that we disagree with our elected representatives which voted for this rule, I mean after
all, we voted for them. How smart can we be?
Instead of dumbing down the rules, 1) how about raising the level of educational level of the
population. Or 2) replace those which think so highly of us. Oops! Did I think that out loud?
Even if it is true, it is not polite to tell the world.
