Hillbilly wisdom: say what you mean and mean what you say. Our government was shut down supposedly over insurance payments made for low income persons and the disadvantages to said group over health care. WHY don’t you just give free health care to everyone on an as needed basis. Cut the middle man out and provide what is needed at a rate for operational necessary. Language borrowed from the continuing resolution just passed by the Congress and signed by the president. If we can afford the staggering increases for other agencies, then why can we not provide the health and security necessary for the American public. Yes. Such a move would be against status quo and the reaction by entrenched interest will be quick and loud. But it can done. What are the priorities of making America great, if not first providing basic health care for everyone? Nationalized medicine would help directly the needs of the citizens and allow them the safety and security needed. Forget payments to insurance companies or helping people with inadequate money in the form of bonuses. Just guarantee the services needed. And supply the appropriate penalties for those that would defraud the system.
