Thoughts for Monday:

Lower tariffs reduce cost

Hillbilly version: Finally, a move made to lower cost of products at the grocery store. Trump announced that reduced tariffs would immediately lower cost to consumers. Does this mean: A) that higher tariffs actually increase cost? B) cost will go back to pre- tariff prices or C) if tariffs had not been introduced the American consumer would have been better off?

Assuming lowering tariffs lower cost to the consumer, will there be a rollback on all products, and free trade will resume or just those things chosen by our leadership will be decreased?

Illegal orders

Hillbilly wisdom: yes the enlisted personnel can be held accountable for following illegal orders but only the one that issues the order should held accountable or at the very least receive the harshest penalty. Surely, those in command positions are the most capable of distinguishing illegal orders? If not, they should be displaced and treated as the criminals that they are.

Cost of national security

Hillbilly version: We will hunt you down and kill you. In Arkansas we have season for hunting and it requires permission in the form of a license. Did I miss the declaration of war. “NOT needed if the personnel are not in danger“. If the personnel are not in danger, the use of violence is not needed.

Monday is enough

Hillbilly wisdom: Thanksgiving is this week. Nothing can get done this week. Maybe before Christmas break.
