Fake news III

Hillbilly version: remember this is a fictional account. This story is too hideous to be true. Imagine a planet where the various leaders are concerned only with self aggrandizement or self enrichment. A place where the needs of others are not as important as needs of the top few. Nations are similar to individuals. Each nation has a personality. Each nation is a growing entity. It can be a place that others wish to be a part of, to share in the benefits and the rewards of being something bigger than self. Or the nation can become part of a criminal enterprise.

Imagine leaders so corrupt that they would use the power of their position to enrich themselves, not the country they have pledged to defend. Countries so rich in resources both material and human, that business contracts with these countries immediately enrich the companies awarded the contracts. Companies, most commonly in the form of corporations, that make liability for their conduct hard to establish. These companies rewarded to the degree that extreme economic differences exist between the owners or shareholders and the other members of society? Leaders of the most prominent countries meet and agree to promote policies of divisiveness and conflict among various countries instead of cooperation for the betterment of all. Of course there would be payments for their actions.

Ask yourself this, do we know any leaders who return from foreign trips laden with minor gifts- Crowns, airplanes? Of course we don’t. How about senior staff giving advice to enemies on how to negotiate a treaty NO; telling enemies about plans to bomb other enemies NO; or withholding intelligence or armaments in support of allies involved in conflicts CERTAINLY NOT. Conflicts that we are trying to stop. We cry peace and demand that our allies cede territory to the aggressor.

As individuals in the United States, the use of weapons in the commission of a crime increases the punishment. In our story, there will be a questioning of the nation’s leaders about the commission of crimes at sea in international waters that result in people dying. The use of superior power and weapons that result in death to individuals without due process. Somewhere along the chain of command, There is deniability about the actual orders given and who is responsible for those orders. “We will hunt you down and kill you”, statements are subject to interpretation. Sounds like an order to kill?

This increase in punishment or risk is to reduce the likelihood of the crime. More risk and stiffer penalties are deterrents but somehow the damage assessed is greater if weapons are used. The finality of violence cannot be removed. Physical harm is just that way.

A country with vast economic advantages does not need to use force to promote what is best for the people. Leaders will be remembered for their good deeds. This is one scenario. A scenario of shared fortunes, prosperity, and peace. A United States that can lead the world. A beacon guiding the way.

But the heads of state will also be held accountable for the crimes committed by the nation. The buck stops here. The heads of state, acting independently or in conjunction with other heads of state, will also be held accountable for Murder, genocide and sales of arms to all sides promoting violence against other nation. Actions taken by one nation against another sovereign nation for the unseen benefit of the leaders.

Art II Sec4.1

”levying war against them”, …. success is not necessary- an attempt to aid the enemy is enough for a charge of TREASON.

According Washington post on Sept 2 a boat strike in the Caribbean left two survivors clinching to the boat. Adm Mitch Bradley ordered a second strike in order to comply with Hegseth’s order “kill all passengers aboard a boat”. Hegseth declines comment. Secretary of Defense/War operates under the direction of the president, exercises authority, direction, and control over the DoD which, in turn, controls the military actions.

The department declines to comment. *Geneva Convention has rules about the treatment of captives. Is there a moment of conscientious, regret even, when the realization of your actions demand that the record be set straight? NO. Not even a little bit. Such actions bring shame upon the nation.

What or who would benefit from shutting down an entire country? Is that benefit economic or maybe political. Either way the harm is directly to the people of the smaller nation. And indirectly to the larger nation through loss of trust. WE the people are not being represented. This is not who we are.

You believe it is real, even though it can’t possibly be.

The primary purpose of separation of power is the prevention of abuse. Only Congress can declare war. The executive branch would have us believe that the boats in the Caribbean are a direct threat to the United States. Bullshit!
