Hillbilly wisdom: everyone wants to limit the terms on politicians except for their politician. As voters we do not understand why there are not limits on the elected officials. There is nothing we can do? Which is bull crap or fake news. You want term limits, vote against the incumbent. Term limits are that simple. Vote against the person in office. The reality is this is not what we, as voters, want. Why do we delude ourselves? Let me point to Arkansas as an example. There was a time, not so long ago, when the state was solid Democrat. A Republican could not get elected. Now we are a solid Republican state. Red. So Red, that it is not even necessary for the national candidates to campaign within the state. It is not necessary.

Your position is your business. You should vote and believe that your vote counts. Vote for the person who will best represent you. Therefore, I assume Arkansans are happy with their representatives.

What changed? Hell if I know. Can or should we go back? That is why we have elections. The election process is our opportunity to peacefully replace those who fail to take care of our business. Elections results show the will of the people. Voters have an opportunity to periodically change their elected officials. You make your bed and you get to lay in it. Failure to change representatives will only be taken as support for their past actions. Why would they change if you don’t?

Last point for those who think that their vote does not count. Your vote will not get any better by saving it for the future. Your vote only counts if you apply yourself. You may find yourself in the minority today but silence will be taken for acceptance of status quo. Silence will get you more of the same.
