Hillbilly wisdom: do not ask for what you can not give. In particular, UN Article 2(4) “ shall refrain from the threat or the use of force against territorial integrity or political independence. This will “maintain international peace and security”. So what actions can the UN security council bring against violators? Nothing if you are China, France, Russia, United Kingdom or United States. These members have veto power over any action proposed. Might makes Right? 193 member states and any one of the fore mentioned nations has the veto power over any resolution passed.

The International Criminal Court ICC prosecutes individuals for serious crimes against the international community. The ICC is the only permanent international criminal court. The United States does not recognize the Court although the founding document was signed by President Clinton, it was never ratified. President Trump asked ICC on Dec 9, 2025 to amend its founding document to ensure it does not investigate the Republican president and his top officials or face new United States sanctions against the ICC.

The world watches and waits for Congress to use their power. The president acts with the “authorization” of Congressor faces the consequences of overstepping his authority.
We the people watch with the world on both foreign and domestic issues. Congress has the authority and duty to oversee the executive branch.
