Hillbilly wisdom: Since the president is basically head of both organizations, most people are not concerned about the actions of the president. We don’t have to be concerned. In the United States our representatives, Congress, looks out for our interest. Each person in Congress swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. We trust our representatives as they fulfill their oaths to not get sidetracked and to do their jobs.

There isa record on how representatives voted on each issue; the issues not important enough to bring up; and the failure to use the powers granted to them to safeguard American freedoms, liberty, and protect people under the United States jurisdiction. At the end of December, there were important issues to be voted upon. Requested documents deadlines were missed. Ever hear of overtime? Congress went home!

Now the United States has removed a foreign president from his position. The United States, ie Trump, is saying “we will run Venezuela”. That is all the media is talking about. The most important thing is the people, here and abroad. Congress, this latest distraction was done in your absence. How about working in shifts. We obviously need someone around at all times to safe guard our interest. Draw straws. Short straw has to work the holiday. If you work this holiday, you will be excluded from the drawing on the next holiday.

We need a re-dedication to the fulfillment of their service to America. A renewed pledge of effort and focus towards a job which currently seems lacking.

Elected officials have an advantage over their opponents in an election. The incumbents can point to the record and say “see what I did”. There is no need for talk. The record speaks for itself. A law which does not allow the incumbent to campaign would level the playing ground. All the time saved, not campaigning, could be applied to actual work. The benefits of an increased work load might result in more things getting accomplished. Might even prevent shut downs of the government.

Congress does not need to go the White House. The White House is not your place of employment. Communication with the executive branch can be done without putting your lips on his ass. He has, in house, all the ass kissers he needs. As you campaigned for office, no mention was given to your abilities to suck up for the benefit of all. I dare say you told the voters you would uphold the Constitution.
