Hillbilly version: Senator Cotton, could you explain the apparent attitude shift toward enforcement of the law? Your proposed deportation act suggests an accelerated time line for illegals convicted of a felon. Does this mean the felon would not be subject to the sentences of the court in effect getting a clemency or pardon for the crime?
Why not make it a mandatory death penalty? This would be more in line with the stance you took in supporting the elimination of boats in the Caribbean. Except in this case, they at least had a day in court. How can you support lethal force against non-convicted persons on one hand and give a get out of jail card on the other?
