Moral versus legal standards

Hillbilly wisdom: If it feels right, the use of force is morally acceptable. Law as a legal basis takes second place as justification for war. Why was the United States instrumental in establishing organizations to help prevent wars and now starts conflicts in various regions around the world against the laws they helped establish?

Which is better for society, subjective moral considerations or objective legal constraints? If the law fails to stop crime then the law becomes irrelevant is a dangerous precedent. The standard under subjective moral consideration is whatever the leader says it is at any time. The ensuing chaos is why we are a nation of laws. As a nation of laws every day, past, present and future, you know what is acceptable and what is not. There are penalties for the abuses against the law. God made me do it is not a defense in court.
