Hillbilly wisdom: No one was more surprised than the native Americans when the fire stick was introduced. They immediately wanted one. More and better weapons leads to dominance of the opponents. Currently 2026, the United States is spending nearly a billion dollars on a war– which is not a war. The United States is showing the world that American military armaments are necessary for their security. We are selling weapons even as we realize that the type of weapons we are selling are outdated. The economic results of this type of weapon procurement will decimate the countries resources, impoverish the nation and ultimately be ineffective as a deterrent against foreign influence and domination.

What the United States is gaining from this war is the knowledge that rockets costing more than the weapons they defeat cannot be sustained. There will be a call for the development of laser type weapons that can reduce mass attacks (swarms) of drones for a fraction of the cost. Good plan. Build better weapons for war, for protection, for profit.

The technology of war, and this will sound like comic book stuff, is already being replaced. Ship base lasers will remove the overwhelming need for rocket interceptors. The logical extension of this arms race will be laser type weapons from space. Lasers from space will reduce the present armaments and their effectiveness to nothing. A single ship laser can stop hundreds of attack drones for a fraction of the cost and apply this approach to war as we know it. The massive build-up of ships, planes and missiles will be rendered useless against a space based laser type weapon. As scary as this is, this race is already under way.

In my humble opinion, removal of the international space station is a step necessary for the development of the space based weaponry and should not be allowed to happen. Yes, the space station is old and expensive to maintain but it is one of the best examples of shared cooperation among nations. Any combined and shared alliance among the nations on earth will have to be eliminated. Total domination of space and by extension the nations of earth will hinge upon first strike actions and this cannot be achieved if we have oversight in place.
