Hillbilly wisdom: The qualifications for an ice agent do not appear to be overly demanding. It is being suggested by the administration that they could help airport security by showing up and acting like TSA personnel.

The usual comments rear their ugly head. Ice agents are untrained, unqualified, masked, and carry weapons just to name a few. There is a problem around airport security. The personnel are not being paid. If Congressional personnel could not receive pay if anyone in the service of the United States is not getting paid, then all positions would either be paid or the positions eliminated. Very simple, establish a performance based salary.

May I suggest a better use of Ice agents? While their presence in airports might be helpful, it is like a band aid in a hospital surgery. There are better uses of these highly trained and qualified personnel. Instead of helping security at the airports, why not let them run Congress for a few days? What could go wrong?

The Ice agents could take over during the upcoming break. You never know what might require Congress’s attention and Congress would be unavailable- out of session. The agents could just vote for everything Trump wants. That’s what Congress does now. How hard is that?
