Hillbilly wisdom: Some of the current problems in Iran has to do with the methods used at the start of the SITUATION. According to whichever rhetoric you believe the Strait of Hormuz is either open or closed. In his latest post Trump says we don’t need the strait to withdraw.
There will be either an escalation or a deescalation of the war. The Trump administration calls upon other countries (NATO and European) to assure that shipping in the strait continues. Then he refers to them in an unacceptable or derogatory manner when they remind him that this is not their war.
The regime change, that followed the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei the Iranian leader, has not bowed to the overpowering military presence of the United States and Israel.
The consensus is as long as the United States is present in the gulf, peace is not an option. Peace is off the table. Trump does not want to be there. Americans do not support troops on the ground. Congress is in recess. In short, personal EGO or nationalistic pride keeps us in a situation that many say should never have happened. How do you get out without losing? Declare victory and leave.
Would Trump withdraw if his White House renovation donors threatened to withdraw their funding? Or
there is still Regime change. Maybe we changed the wrong regime.
