Hillbilly wisdom: You know going in as the secretary of war/ defense or the commandeer- in- chief that the possibility of troops captured behind enemy lines, in this case a downed airmen, is real and is going to happen. It is only a matter of time. And yet, the order was given to proceed. The United States had to protect not only the United States but the world. Where is the gratitude? Commandeer- in- chief or secretary of ***, which one of the above is responsible? The answer depends upon the outcome. My friend has an almost perfect betting record at the track but she only bets after the race. Until we know how the public is going to respond we can’t comment for security reasons and it will be easier to say why we did certain things based upon the outcome.
May I digress and point out to the secretary that lead people in the Trump administration get fired when the results achieved are different or less than the expected results. The best policy for the sec of war would be fire a General. Get rid of those that don’t agree with boot licking. You can later claim they did it. Or they were going to F… it up. Just cover your ass.
The media reports Iran will give cash for the live capture of said downed airman. How does this compare to Hedgehog’s position No Mercy No Quarter? This would be the time to tell the American public what a F… up you are and say you didn’t say it. At least you didn’t mean it. You were joking. That approach works for your boss. Try It. Or better yet. Double Down. You could always demand the international court enforce the rules of war on the other side. My God, you like to use God’s name, and we are the good guys.
What is the expectation now that troops are down behind enemy lines? Is there a plan? In an area where you have air superiority, in a time leading to negotiation, this set back will probably extend the war effort a little. Might be a little rough back home as the cost continue to rise. But back home will just need to understand this is short term, every thing will be okay. It’s an acceptable loss.
