Hillbilly version: the game is not fixed, it is predetermined. Go back twenty, forty, or fifty years and examine the direction of this country. The facts say the top tier of the population are getting richer and the gap between the top and the bottom grows. Both parties point or blame the other party and do their best to reverse policies established during the time when they do not have control. Huge sums of money are spent on getting elected. Both parties say you can trust us. And then they make deals that further the status quo.

You are smart enough to see if things are improving. Trust yourself to make decisions. If in your judgment things are okay or the other opinions are worst, then vote accordingly.

Some positions have term limits and some do not. Career politicians are just that. Politicians make a career of their service to the citizens. They are reimbursed well for their service. Some change parties during their career, some do not. Promises are made and most are kept or at least the politician acts in good faith. Politicians must be serving their constituents or they could not get reelected. Therefore, the wealthy must be the constituents that count. Status quo might be Discrimination by class.

A blanket vote against everyone currently in office only changes the majority voting power from democratic to republican or republicans to democrats. Term limits would not necessarily change the status quo, as both parties are bought and paid for. One and done works in sports. A blanket vote against reelection would take more than one election cycle to reinforce that change is necessary. The greatest obstacle is equal representation is lack of money.

Many have given up and withdrawn from the election process because they feel their vote does not count. If you decide you cannot trust the candidates and withdraw, then your vote truly does not count. Now or in the future. Trust yourself. You can make a difference. It will not be quick or easy. Or accept the status quo. Both parties tell us that America is the best place to live. You can trust them. Neither party will tell you America is the best that it can be. How to get to the best we can be is up to us. Trust that you can make a difference.
