Hillbilly wisdom: Silence, when you have the ability to stop something and do not stop it, is an indirect affirmation of the action. There is rhetoric that Iran is Trump’s war. Trump cannot have a war. War is a privilege of Congress, only Congress. Therefore, the thing in Iran is not Trump’s war because there is no war. What we have are violations of international law.
“At the direction of the president”, the military serves under the president’s direction. The president operates under the direction and with the support of Congress. Congress voted against limiting the presidents actions in Iran.
If one can believe polls, which say whatever the group funding the poll wants the poll to say, then a majority of all Americans do not want conflicts (No Wars). The United States has a communication problem. We do not want a war but we are closer to that reality every day. The population does not want it. Congress will not stop it.
Congress needs either to vote for a war or vote to stop the president’s actions before they get a war by default. Stand up for those you represent. Congress needs to own this situation because it is their job. Denial is not an option when weekly you fail to act.
The Congress represents the population of the United States. The silence of the citizens of the United States is a confirmation or an affirmation of the president’s actions. It is your right or choice to support what ever you believe is right. Just don’t complain about the collateral damages. Money spent wisely defending the immediate threats against the United States is money well spent. When plan A does not obtain the results it was designed to achieve then go to plan B. The problem is our plans are not solid. The plans shift daily, hourly, or sometimes from the beginning of the sentence to the end of the sentence. We don’t need the Strait of Hormuz which was open at the beginning of (plan A) will now be closed under (plan B).
Under both plans Iran will not have nuclear weapons. There was an agreement, three administrations ago, that said Iran would not have nuclear weapons and Trump tore up during his first administration. Not sure what plan that was. The goal of plan B is to bring the Iranians back to the negotiation table- a place where they were on February 27.
