Hillbilly wisdom: You cannot serve two masters equally at the same time. In the previous administration there were questions about the presidents ability to run the country. Rightfully so, and others pointed to those closest to the president asked why they did not report the decline in his abilities to run the country. This lack of disclosure by those nearest the president lead to accusations about a cover-up.
Consider this: if Biden had stepped down earlier the election might have gone differently. Whether this is true or not is not the point. Do the people surrounding the president have a duty to report any observations of decline in the president’s ability? Any question about your loyalty to the boss almost guarantees you will be dismissed. Self preservation says keep your head down and your mouth shut. Making the public aware of the president’s condition, a person such as the vice president would face charges of trying to advance his own agenda. The same rhetoric applies to political opponents.
When the media asks questions about the president’s fitness (either mental or physical), they are accused of hating the president, being stupid and are bared from further contact with the president. Stances against the policies of the administration are considered disloyalty to the presidency if not actual hate crimes.
Is there a cover-up now?
