Hillbilly wisdom: This is fake news when you cannot give what you have promised, you try to substitute something else. President Trump, or so it appears, cannot give Netanyahu the country of Iran. The joint venture between Israel and the United States has thus far been less than successful. Further, there is a very real and very large group of nations who would like peace in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz open for trade. Trade or lack of trade is more important than the uninvited conflict in Iran.

Abram Accords is now an issue that blocks the peace talks. But the suggestion of foreign countries joining the Abrams Accord was met with definite a No. The Abrams Accord is the proverbial horse before the cart kind of bargaining. The recognition sought for Israel will not be given without a Palestine state. No deal. Trump’s deal with Netanyahu cannot be fulfilled. And the defensive military exercises begins anew. Trump being the genius that he is, he knows this. Trump wants Congress to stop the military action in Iran. He would have deniability. He cannot get the help he needs so he will settle for on out that he can blame on someone else. Trump has appealed to various nations, both friend and fore, without success.

China wants peace? Israel wants Iran? Trump wants? Russia? Iran? These are the most visible players in the region. Without the correct pressure from other nations, the direct conflict will begin anew. How much pain can the world endure? Under the war powers act, the United States should be out of the conflict without congressional approval. Congressional members are facing elections this fall. The Midterms will probably restrict Congress as they consider approving or continuing little military encounters with Iran.

Trump needs to make a deal. This is what he does best. Since Iran will not surrender, a ninety day extension of the ceasefire will get us to September 1. Under the ceasefire trade through the strait will resume. Why would trade resume under a continuation of the ceasefire when it has not under the current ceasefire? But if peace is sought why does Trump keep changing the demands? Abrams Accord?
