Managing the vote

Hillbilly wisdom: There is a trend in nation politics of sending the members home to stop a vote if the vote is going to go against the position held by the slim majority. This approach is not working. Consider the Release of the Epstein files or consider War Powers Act. Rather than staying and doing the job the members of Congress were elected to do, the members allow themselves to be sent home by the leaders of the majority party. In both cases Congress came back and passed the measure in question. Obviously, Congress needs to be in session to prevent unnecessary delays.

The veto power will probably or possibly come into play. Then what? This is not a democrat and republic war. This is about America. America’s long term existence and prosperity.

There is a movement within the United States by the parties to gain more seats in the congress to advance the parties’ agenda. This is sometimes counter to the wishes of the public if you can trust polling. To better align the candidates with the needs and wishes of the public, we need to eliminate the parties as they currently exist. The states need to step up and control their elections. Instead of multiple primaries, consider the benefits of open primaries and ranked choice voting. The candidates would have to appeal to a larger base (positions instead of a party). By managing the vote on a state level, the elected representatives on the federal level would be tied to the people they represent instead of a party.
