Hillbilly wisdom: If money did not have such a powerful influence, the amount spent on elections would be less. Since there is almost exclusive party line voting at the federal level, it would save money if we eliminated half of the Senate. Perhaps with fewer senators reaching a consensus would be easier. This arrangement would benefit the public and those spending billions to influence elections would get a break also.
