Hillbilly wisdom: the United States has grown for two and a half centuries. Founded on principles that the people can govern themselves under a set of written rules. Rules that apply to everyone equally. There is built into the laws a system of checks and balances to assure the freedoms of the people. In 250 years it has been necessary to change the rules less than 30 times.

We are not the original United States and the laws have been changed over time but there is an expectation, a belief in the laws of the nation, that will carry us forward. May our expectations not be undermined. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA.
