Hillbilly wisdom: In response to your comments I offer the following “to win without honor is a loss”. There was a time when your word was a contract. A time when what you said was what you meant. There is a level of corruption within the government that has never been seen before. The very foundation, the rule of law, is being replaced with the president can do whatever the president wants. The position of president places you are above the law? There is immunity for presidential actions in performance of their duties. This president would (a)extend immunity to his family and friends; the law (b)is whatever he says it is; the position of president is a time for (c)personal enrichment and (d)lying is alright. The wishes of the people can be set aside if their wishes do not align with the view of the president.

Consolidation of power in the position of president goes against the checks and balances system of the United States and does not make sense for America. The consolidation of power is both illegal and does not make sense unless there is a coup planned. The law is whatever I say it is is the way a criminal thinks about rules. There has already been an issue of peaceful transition of power following an election under this president. Failure to follow his directions resulted in a new vice president this time around. A vice president more in line with the views of the president. If the methods employed are not legal then the results are what? Does the end justify the means used?

America’s claim of moral superiority fails when we turn our back upon injustice, look the other way, or claim we do not know? America should Set the standard. Not only should we try to do the right thing but we should do the right thing the right way. No one is above the law in America. When we fail as a nation of laws we lose. America is more than a place. All men are created equal is a goal or a standard which will not stand if we sit idly and do nothing when corrupt actions are used by our elected officials.
