Daily news July 21, 2026

Hillbilly wisdom: it is in some degree difficult to determine who is lying the most. We are being told the total truth, a partial truth, or outright lies. Two headlines today (July 21,20206- 104 days until the election and 143 days into the Iran War) set the stage for my confusion. Honor those who gave their lives and The Iranian regime has brutally controlled the Iranian people for 47 years. Both of these beg the question of who controls the governments involved in military conflicts when the countries are over 7000 miles apart. To the first statement let there be no mistake of my position, YES we should honor those who gave everything for their country. They paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The power structure or hierarchy of power in the United States is the people> to the Congress> to the President> and to the military personnel. If the polls don’t lie then somewhere between the people and the deaths of military personnel there is a break down.

To the second headline: the wishes of the Iranian people have been suppressed for decades. The people of Iran are not being represented. The Problem is the Government.

It would appear the real problem is the same for both the United States and Iran. As Americans we cannot change the internal politics of a foreign sovereign nation. How is killing over 3000 Iranian citizens helping Iran’s situation? As Americans we morn the deaths of less than twenty service members. And we should. At the same time, there is a possibility of change within our system.

The extremes are Stop now- walk away and kill them all and let God sort it out. The answer is some where between those extremes but as Americans we have a vote- a say in the policies of our government.
