Credit for the United States
Hillbilly wisdom: the last time the United States was without a national debt was 1835. This year 2026 the national debt will reach 40 trillion dollars. If you say it fast, it does not seem that big! Credit is not a big deal for those who are responsible enough to realize credit is not cash. Money borrowed has to be repaid. A failure to meet the requirements of the loan has consequences. Most working Americans understand this. The problem is not the everyday person but the simple concept of credit has largely escaped those running the government. Just spend everything and ask for twice as much. There is not a limit on the horizon.
An over extension of credit will reduce the countries ability to provide services. There will be fewer services and those that survive will cost more as the interest consumes an ever growing part of the budget. Simply, there is less money to spend on services. Mismanagement of credit robs the future generations. Failure to understand that credit is not cash has long term negative consciences. Credit is sometimes necessary for short term projects, credit can be used to leverage your position but as a national policy, credit should not be considered a goal to be achieved. Credit for the United States is for a short term need or for unforeseen emergencies.
