Drink the Kool-Aid

Hillbilly wisdom: when the elite become predatory a decision has to be made. In 1978 Jim Jones led a group of believers into the jungles of Guyana. His journey started in Indiana, moved to California, and then to Guyana. Over 900 followers drank poisoned drink in a mass suicide following the murder of Representative Ryan who attempted to help some leave. The followers blindly followed directions of their religious leader. Some managed to escape into the woods and related the following: the children were first then the adults, some voluntarily and some at gun point, drank a poisoned drink.

Imagine having that power over others. “Drink the Kool-Aid” became synonymous with blind obedience. No matter what, you obey.

In less than 13 weeks the election will be over. There is a question about the effectiveness of the president’s endorsement during the election cycle. Consideration is being made by the candidates as both parties attempt to control the government. The future of the Americans is in the hands of the voters. The decision is personal and should be based upon the performance of the current congress. The congressional members may drink the Kool-Aid but as voters we have choices. Choose carefully.
