Idea, Ideal, Intentions

Hillbilly wisdom: For there to be a hero, there has to be dire circumstances, an emergency, imminent threat or evil in some form. The need may not be real. The NEED can be manufactured. The United States needs an administrator not a hero. Just guide the ship until your shift is over. The US ship sailed long ago. The US is on a journey. Our destination is unknown because it is not a place. America is a concept. America is an idea of what could be. The idea that “all men are created equal” is a goal or a destination. A destination that is ideal because it would remove barriers and all persons would have an equal opportunity for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The group concept is good but, to date, has not been achieved. The group concept is largely overridden by the overlapping competition between the individuals in their quest for their individual goals. We cannot all be rocket scientist. Nor do we need to be.

The reality of modern day America is a vast inequality between individuals and groups. When there is a perception of favoritism then trust in the system is shattered. The intentions of the founding fathers can never be definitely defined but the founders showed a willingness to build a consensus for the people.

The founder’s intention of all men being equal is absurd. “There will never be equality. But it is a good goal, a beacon in the night”.
