Voter turn out

Hillbilly wisdom: This is not a guilt trip. I think I understand. The last Arkansas election was decided by 54% of the voters. The reasons for this low turn out are varied, personal and no one’s business but those who elected not to vote (pun intended). There were no real choices. Things are going okay. Did not have the time. There was an election?

These are valid. No one can tell you how to live your life. The slightly more than half of the voters who participate will happily continue to elect the same very capable people and Arkansas will be fine. Nothing to worry about. But if you have some concerns then you can vote differently, vote the same, or stay home on election day. Win, lose or draw your presence counts. A larger turn out means there are more to represent. Politicians notice the numbers. Turn out means someone is watching.
