Hillbilly wisdom: when you are seeking a safe place to protect yourself, you do not locate in an area likely to be hit by the enemy. The United States will not move bases to Israel. (A)Israel does not want the United States within their borders. (B)War has changed with advances in weapons. Military strikes now occur from great distances. This has been demonstrated in the Middle East and Ukraine. US bases, once established for the safety of countries, have made the hosting countries targets. Large amounts of destruction have occurred to the Unites States’ bases in the Middle East which are within the range of missiles, drones, and rockets from Iranian sources. The decision to rebuild or repair these bases will ultimately be addressed both by the countries hosting the bases and the United States. Withdrawing completely from area has not been an option up to this point. Distances are not the consideration that they once were.

Bringing all the troops home is not on the table. Protection of our assets and national security will not allow it.

The media is suggesting that bases will relocate to the state of Israel. The United States is involved in the region to support the Israeli state. A relocation and concentration of forces would appear to solve the logistic problems. The problem is Israel is within range and there is no article 5 protection against attacks.
