Hillbilly Wisdom: Secretary Besset announced that China and US were going to fix the trade situation between China and the United States by reducing the tariff on certain goods. This was announced by Secretary Besset and heralded as good for the economy. Both parties agreed to keep talking; agreed to extend their bilateral trade agreements until Jan10, 2027; and further meetings in November and December between Trump and Xi. The core elements includes the suspension of high tariffs. This would be a good starting point for the trade talks with the world in general. Why not treat everyone the same? If the suspension of high tariffs are good, could we extrapolate that suspension of all tariffs would be better?
