Trump’s move toward Socialism

Hillbilly wisdom: President Trump denies emphatically that there will not be any socialism or Communism under his watch while he quietly takes equity/quasi equity positions in over thirty companies. His reasons are to secure supply lines issues; for national security; and to provide capital for critical industries. These are valid reasons for the government to have control of the means of production as they fulfill the social obligations of the government to it’s citizens. The question is why not take control of the critical industries. Why do the benefits from the government’s intervention go largely to private citizens instead of the people?

No, this is not the American way. Instead of operating for the people, government support is given for a small portion or return. The vast majority of the benefits goes to private entities. They voluntarily give a portion in return for government contracts or approval to conduct sales transactions with foreign countries.

The real question is not are we doing it but why are we trying to make it sound like a bad thing?
