(part four of four)
The Arkansas Political Machine
Act 602 was orchestrated by the present Arkansas government to deny the citizens of Arkansas a citizens initiated amendment for direct citizen’s participation in their governance. The Arkansas legislature on the other hand has proposed three constitutional amendments to the voter on the 2026 Arkansas ballot.
Of these three the first two were supposedly clarifications of existing Arkansas law (the right to keep and bear arms and the right to a secure election). These are issues that Arkansans feel strongly about and are likely to support these proposals even though they do little to change existing Arkansas law. Proposal three, however, could well be described as a wolf among the sheep.
Any way you look at it, proposal three will create programs , loans, and grants that result in a taxpayer funded handout to “Machine connected” companies and organizations. If you follow the money, donors in support of proposal three will provide a clear indication of who will profit should it become law.
Among the donors are Murphy Oil $100,000, Arkansas Realtor’s Assn $100,000, and the rest of the list follows suit. Among these are many prominent business leaders and the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce donated $15,000 directly and $170,000 through a proxy for a total of $185,000.
The same Arkansas legislature that insulted the Arkansas voters in Act 602 will distribute this tax payer funded handout.
How can this not be an insult?
There is an immediate opportunity for the people of Arkansas to express their disappointment with our current State government.
VOTE NO on all three Arkansas’ legislature proposed constitutional amendments.
Send a message to Little Rock that “we can read above an eighth grade level” and “we do want to know how the sausage is made”!!
