Hillbilly wisdom: there are so many distractions during election season. The election is under a week away. But this Star link/Star shield question is important enough to address at this time. NO ONE wishes to own the responsibility for the disruption of service to Ukraine. First it was Musk; then it was Trump; then the Department of Defense; and now Ukraine violated terms of service. The problem is not who but that the system can be actively modified at any time. The United States military uses this system. Can we assume similar terms of service for the United States exists? WHO sets the terms of service?

The answer reveals responsibility for the moderation of service to Ukraine and if it not the United States then the United States is at risk. This is a national security issue either way. People died during the disruption. Because the U.S. has ongoing military conflicts around the gulf region we cannot afford any pauses in service. Or if the U.S. has control of the service then the present administration is responsible for the lapse. Which is the scariest scenario?
