Election lessons

Hillbilly wisdom: Schumer is old school and needs to go home not to the front of the line. There is a message in this year’s election results and it is not all anti-Trump. The old way is not working and Schumer is an identifiable part of the old way. Today and tomorrow count more than yesterday. Yesterday is behind us and it serves as a guide but there is a reason why the pendulum swings back and forth. The common ground requires some compromise from both sides. Neither party is focused on affordability. The competing agendas argue their way is the only way. Neither party has been successful in spending their way into prosperity. Expenditures are real but controllable.

The United States has been a melting pot of cultures. We are stronger because of the variety of view points. The transition of power peacefully through the election process has an appeal to other places and people who watch closely. The power is with the people but change can be slow and bumpy.

This election is not a mandate any more than the 2024 election. The politicians need to forget their campaign rhetoric and remember America is about the people. The poor house is not a place we need to strive for. As elected officials your job is to care for the long term betterment of the people you serve. Careless or unneeded spending gets you replaced. Do not be afraid to consider the other view point when making a decision. And the next election is almost here. Maybe if you do a good job you won’t need to run negative campaigns against your opponent.
