Hillbilly wisdom: The bully caught stealing lunch money from others on the playground would like to keep the money. He does not understand why the money has to be returned. His promises to steal the money another way show both a lack of remorse and an intent to continue his illegal ways. President Trump is disappointed that the Supreme Court ruled against his tariff policy but he thinks the government should be allowed to keep the money already received. He will “get the money another way, maybe even more” .

We should always remember but first we need to know. The American public should know who is applying for a refund and what is their connection to the president. An application for a refund does not mean a refund will happen? If the success rate of the companies applying depend upon past, present, and future support of the president then this is just another extortion attempt. President Trump will remember those who apply for a refund of the illegal tariffs. That is money taken from the American consumer. It was taken in steps but the cost increases were quickly passed down.

The American consumer who ultimately paid those fees should remember two things. First, the administration knew the tariffs were illegal but proceeded with their enactment taking over a 160 billion away from the American public. Second, consider the affiliation of the president and the companies that will get their money back. It will be interesting to see if there is a positive correlation between campaign contributors (past present and future) and companies receiving refunds.

Remember this is an election year.
