Plus, if Putin cannot see his way to peace there could be sales of tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. Shortly after this proposed license, there was a strike against Iranian shipping in the Caspian Sea by Ukraine; and a face to face meeting between Zelensky and Trump in the United States. The Caspian Sea is the back door to Iran. Coincidence or the two events are related? Netanyahu from Israel also meet with Trump the same day. Coincidence. There is not a new alliance in the Iranian war.

Actually the foreign ministers were in town to pay final respects to long time Senator Graham. Their visits had nothing to do with the Iranian war.

What all three participants have in common are upcoming elections. Israel has scheduled elections in October, the United States in November; and Ukraine in March (2024). *Ukraine’s elections have been postponed due to a war for two years (martial law). Elections, if Ukraine is an example, are within the realm of executive power for better or worse.

All 120 members of the Knesset are up for election in Israel one week before the midterms in the United States. The leading contender for Netanyahu’s job is Gadi Eisenkot who is considered more hard line than Netanyahu.

For the United States, the midterm is not the answer, it is an election, the president’s job is not at risk. At best, it is a bandage. Elections only change personnel in government offices. Different personnel only make changes if their job duties are perceived as different from the previous personnel. There will not be a moderation of hostilities against Iran. The war will go unchanged if the leaders have anything to say about it. Hopefully, Israel and the United States do not follow Ukraine’s precedent and forgo the election entirely.
