Hillbilly wisdom: law enforcement uses force to protect themselves when the adversary has a clear and visible weapon. When the law officers are called or placed in harms way, there is a reason why self defense is justified.
Why is the double standard okay? Some nations have a nuclear weapons or nuclear energy but the nation of Iran cannot! The United States does not trust Iran. If not trusting someone or something is reason enough to eliminate nuclear weapons, then the United States stockpile would have less than 5000.
Iran has been subjected to bombing twice during the span of a year by the United States in conjunction with or cooperation with Israeli. The first time Trump announced the objective was accomplished and Iran’s nuclear program was eliminated. And then it wasn’t. Iran might have a bomb in a short time period. Might have. Are you kidding me? We bomb a nation of over 90 million people because they might have a bomb in the future. Self defense requires more than they might have a bomb and they don’t like us. There was not an immediate danger.
This Iranian conflict seems personal until you consider what has occurred with prices on energy prices. The benefits to large western based energy companies (many are Trump campaign contributors) have been large. Spoils of war. War or conflicts need better reasons than they might have a bomb in the future. There are many examples of countries with nuclear capabilities that the United States has not attacked. But the last two uses of the American military has directly benefited the energy sector.
Anyone with the least bit of knowledge of the Strait of Hormuz would know the significance and the impact the strait would play if there were hostilities against Iran. The intelligence agencies and the military planning would have known. Are the actions of the United States that of a deranged idiot or are the real reasons for those actions being withheld? They certainly are not actions taken for self defense.
